Job Description

Work Schedule:

Part-time, 60% FTE, 24 hours per week. Shifts scheduled between the hours of 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, or 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM. Weekend and holiday rotation required. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.

We are seeking an ECMO Specialist to:

  • Monitor, operate, and adjust ECMO circuits and the components to maintain patient specific parameters.
  • Continually assess and evaluate ECMO circuit and troubleshoot any difficulties with communication to the ECMO team.
  • Partner with ECMO Coordinators and Physician Leadership to advance the ECMO program to include quality improvement and education development.
  • Assist in staff training and quality and outcome review to ensure alignment with the ELSO guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) accredited School for Respiratory Care Required or
  • Degree in Nursing Required or
  • Graduate of Perfusion Program Required
  • Baccalaureate degree Preferred

Work Experience

  • 1 year of critical care experience Required
  • 2 years of critical care experience Preferred
  • Experience teaching patients and families Required

Licenses & Certifications

  • Licensed as Respiratory Care Practitioner AND RRT Credentialed by the National Board for Respiratory Care Required or
  • Registered Nurse license in the state of Wisconsin Required or
  • Certified Clinical Perfusionist (CCP) as recognized by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (ABCP) and State of Wisconsin Licensure as a Licensed Perfusionist Required
  • BLS/CPR certified Required
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or willingness to obtain Preferred
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or willingness to obtain Preferred
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) or willingness to obtain Preferred
  • Adult Critical Care Specialty (ACCS) certification Preferred
  • Neonatal/Pediatric Specialty (NPS) certification Preferred
  • Certified Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) Preferred
