General Summary
Cardiac Device Technician l works under the general supervision of the practice supervisor and under the clinical supervision of the physician(s) or Advanced Practice Provider(s) to provide thorough, proficient pacemaker, implantable loop, and automatic implantable cardioverter defibrillator (AICD) interrogation and re-programming to cardiac device patients in person, remotely, and/or via phone transmission. AHA-BLS certification is required however, certification is a not qualifying factor to obtain the position.

Qualifications
Education/Skills Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Post-secondary education or clinical certification (i.e. Medical Assistant (MA), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Emergency Medical Technician, and Registered Cardiovascular Technician) required.
- Successful completion within 18 months of a full cardiac device educational program (such as Arrhythmia Technologies Institute or Prep MD) or 5 years patient care experience analyzing and reprogramming cardiac pacemaker and automatic implantable cardioverter defibrillators (AICD) (Biotronik, Boston Scientific, Medtronic and Abbott) required.
- Successful completion of the CVPH basic rhythm class is required prior to hire. External candidates may meet this requirement by testing out.
- Telemetry experience preferred.
- Successful completion of complex rhythm recognition class required.
- AHA-BLS is required within 6 months of hire or a current non-AHA-BLS card will be honored up to the date of renewal
- One (1) year or more of clinical experience as a Cardiac Device Technician and/or as a Remote Monitor Technician preferred. On the job training may be substituted for the minimum experience requirement.
