Cook – Dietary Department
Location: Uvalde Memorial Hospital – Uvalde, Texas
Job Type: Full-Time | Non-Exempt
Schedule: Rotating Hours and Rotating Days (Includes weekends and holiday as needed)

What You’ll Do:
- Prepare hot meals, cold items, baked goods, and therapeutic diet options using UMH-standard recipes
- Ensure meals are plated correctly and delivered on time to patients, staff, and visitors
- Maintain cleanliness and food safety throughout kitchen operations
- Follow HACCP procedures and assist with temperature logs, sanitation, and inventory
- Collaborate with dietitians and kitchen staff to meet modified diet needs
- Support catering for events and assist with deliveries as needed
What You’ll Bring:
- Experience: Previous experience in healthcare or institutional food prep preferred
- Education: High school diploma or GED preferred
- Certification: Food Handler’s Certification (required)
- Skills: Strong organizational abilities, a team mindset, and excellent customer service
- Physical Requirements: Able to stand for long periods, lift occasionally, and work efficiently in a busy kitchen
