What are the responsibilities and job description for the Surgical Technologist-Certified - FT position at Uvalde Memorial Hospital and Careers?
Uvalde Memorial Hospital (UMH) is hiring a Certified Surgical Technologist to support a busy, team-oriented OR. Our surgical services include General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Women’s Health, Cardiology, and Urology, in additiion to providing C-Section support to our Women's & Newborns' Department. We’re looking for a dependable, patient-safety-focused Surgical Tech who thrives in a collaborative environment.
Schedule:
This position is typically schedule Monday-Friday from 6:30am-3:00pm, but will vary based on OR needs. Additionally, this position requires an overnight and weekend on-call rotation. On-call is typically required 10-14 days per month, including 1-2 weekends.
When on call, the Surgical Technologist must be able to report to the hospital within 20 minutes of being called in.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required

CST (NBSTSA) or TS-C (NCCT) required
- Experience may be accepted in lieu of certification for individuals who worked in a surgical technologist role prior to September 1, 2009
- Documented U.S. military surgical technology training (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, or Public Health Service) may be accepted in lieu of certification
- BLS (Healthcare Provider) certification is required
