Location: Uvalde Memorial Hospital – Uvalde, Texas
Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

In This Role, You Will:
- Conduct financial screenings and assist patients in understanding their ability to pay and available financial support options.
- Review insurance coverage, verify benefits, and explain co-pays, deductibles, and out-of-pocket responsibilities.
- Educate patients on billing processes, insurance programs (including Medicare and Medicaid), and financial assistance options.
- Assist uninsured or underinsured patients in applying for aid and developing manageable payment plans.
- Serve as a liaison between the patient, hospital billing department, and insurance providers to resolve issues and ensure clear communication.
- Accurately document all patient interactions, applications, and financial agreements.
- Track key performance indicators such as financial aid approvals and patient satisfaction.
- Advocate for patients during times of financial hardship, providing compassionate and informed support.
What We're Looking For:
- A compassionate, detail-oriented professional with a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in healthcare billing or payment processing is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of insurance guidelines, including Medicare and Medicaid.
- Proficiency in EHR systems, medical billing platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written (additional languages are a plus).
- Organized, empathetic, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
