Hours: 20–30 per week
Schedule:
- Monday–Thursday, afternoon and evening
- Occasional Saturdays for events and tournaments
Compensation: $18–$25/hour (based on experience)

The Role
As a Kids Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Instructor, you’ll lead high-energy classes for ages 3–12 and be a positive, steady presence for both students and parents. You’ll run our pre-structured curriculum, keep classes fun and controlled, and help every kid reach their potential. You’ll also support families along their training journey, assist with events, and help new members get started when needed. This role blends teaching, leadership, communication, and community-building. It’s perfect for someone who loves working with kids and wants to make an impact every day.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Coaching
- Lead pre-structured 45-minute classes with clear drills, games, and progressions
- Assist in managing groups of up to ~30 students with confidence and control
- Ensure mat safety, smart pairing, and strong class flow
- Adapt to different ages and skill levels
- Give quick, specific coaching cues kids can actually use
- Assist with belt testing, new student intros, and academy events
Parent & Member Support
- Communicate with parents (wins, next steps, and quick updates)
- Support new families during their first few weeks
- Do light member outreach (postcards, calls, video messages) to boost engagement
Professional Development
- Attend at least 2 academy classes per week to stay aligned with our curriculum (as part of your paid training)
- Stay coachable and open to feedback

- Having grappling experience is a bonus but not required (Wrestling, Judo, BJJ)
