What are the responsibilities and job description for the HCSS Building Attendant I - Campus Field House position at UTMB Health?
JOB SUMMARY:
To provide routine manual services to assure clean, orderly and sanitary conditions in and around buildings.
MAJOR DUTIES / CRITICAL TASKS:
Cleans and services entire Field House, offices, hallways, restrooms, and other public areas as needed.
Dust mops, wet mops, polish, vacuums and shampoos carpets, rugs, and furniture.
Cleans and disinfects walls, ceilings, and furniture.
Cleans all horizontal and vertical surfaces as needed.
Maintains pool area, sweeps pool, hoses down pool deck
Checks CO2 gauges, checks chlorine level in tanks, able to read gauges on pump and understand what those numbers mean.
Maintains maintenance sheds on the Fields to make sure they stay neat and orderly
Maintains housekeeping equipment and utility closets in an orderly and clean manner.
Makes sure equipment is working and all equipment not working is reported to Front Desk.
Adheres to internal controls established for department.
Performs related duties as required.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Will be required to work overtime.
Exposure to adverse weather conditions - extreme heat/cold and rain.
Heavy lifting required: 25 to 50 lbs. frequently; up to 100 lbs occasionally.
Walking: 50 to 75% time.
Bending/Stooping/Crouching: 25 to 50% time.
Climbing: 15% to 20% time.
Pushing/Pulling Objects: 25 to 50% time.
REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
Two years of housekeeping experience is required, as well as basic computer skills, reading and responding to emails. Candidate will be also be trained as front desk staff (sales).
EQUIPMENT:
Standard housekeeping equipment and materials.

Work Schedule will consist of the following:
Monday - Friday: 9:30am - 6:30pm, with occasional weekend and fill-in hours
Holidays - on occasion
*This position is a contract role through Healthcare Systems Staffing (HCSS), UTMB's in-house staffing agency. Contract positions do not include UTMB/TRS employee benefits, however, a 401(k) retirement plan is available via employment through HCSS.
Compensation- Hiring Range: 15.00
