Job Summary
As a Route Driver for Brightmore Brands, you will play a critical role in supporting our donation and retail operations by safely and efficiently transporting donated goods between donation sites, stores, and processing centers. You will be responsible for following scheduled routes, loading and unloading materials, ensuring the proper handling of donations, and maintaining accurate records. This position requires a strong commitment to safety, customer service, and representing the organization in a professional and courteous manner at all times.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate company vehicles safely and efficiently to transport goods between assigned locations.
- Load and unload items with care, ensuring all products are properly secured for transit.
- Perform routine pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to maintain safety and compliance standards.
- Accurately complete delivery logs, route documentation, and any required paperwork.
- Deliver outstanding customer service by maintaining clear and professional communication with clients.
- Support in-store operations when needed, including organizing inventory and assisting with stock management.
- Work closely with team members to streamline delivery routes and enhance operational efficiency.
- Maintain thorough and organized records with strong attention to detail.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum 1 year of Driving experience with 16 or 26 foot box truck
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to manage a tight delivery schedule and complete multiple stops efficiently throughout the day.
- Dependable and committed to maintaining delivery schedules.
- Ability to handle unexpected situations on the road, such as traffic delays or route changes.
- Capable of lifting, loading, and unloading items repeatedly; able to work on your feet for extended periods.
- Professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with donors, clients, and store personnel.
- Able to identify potential vehicle issues and report them promptly.
Physical and Scheduling Requirements
- Must be able to lift, push and pull up to 50lbs
- Perform a physically demanding role that requires making 25 to 50 stops per day for pickups and deliveries.
- Flexibility to work varied schedules including rotating weekends.
