What are the responsibilities and job description for the REEFER TECHNICIAN position at UTILITY TRAILER OF DALLAS INC?
The ideal candidate should have previous experience as a mechanic/technician in the transport refrigeration industry. Commercial/residential air and/or refrigeration, welding and mechanic skills are a plus. This career opportunity is available for a self-motivated person with strong work ethics. We are willing to train the right applicant.
Duties will include:
- Perform repairs and diagnostics on starting and charging system, cooling and re-charge, and electrical including common fault codes. Repairs include: performing leak detection procedures, compressor replacements, soldering refrigerant lines, evaporator/condenser replacements and front & rear main engine seal replacements.
- Perform repair and maintenance on Carrier and Thermo King reefer units in accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications.
- Identify and obtain necessary replacement parts as needed to execute repairs.
- Must be able to diagnose and perform proper repairs on all makes and models.
- Train and work to be a certified Cargobull reefer unit technician.
- Conform to all safety and health standards
Requirements:
- 1-2 years of Transport Refrigeration Technical, or equivalent, experience
- Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record
- Must be able to be “on-call” for after-hours service
- Must have own tools
- Ability to lift up to 60 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, crouch, stoop, reach, stretch, step, climb, and/or sit frequently throughout the duration of the day
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Attention to detail and highly organized
