What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fabricator position at Utility Trailer Manufacturing Company?
What you'll do
Fabrication
- Fabricate trailer components using punch presses, press brakes, shears, iron workers, laser cutters. drill press, hand tools and power tools
- Read and interpret blueprints and work orders to build parts to spec
- Work collaboratively with your team to hit daily production goals
- Work mandatory overtime when production schedules require it
Measurement & Quality
- Use measuring instruments — including combination squares, tape measures, protractors, sheet metal gauge disks, calipers, and micrometers — to verify parts meet specifications
- Apply basic math skills to calculate dimensions, tolerances, and material requirements
- Maintain legible handwriting for accurate documentation and sign-offs
- Use basic computer skills to log production data and review job instructions
Safety & Communication
- Keep your work area clean, organized, and safe at all times
- Follow all company and departmental safety rules without exception
- Communicate openly and clearly with co-workers and supervisors about production or quality concerns
What we're looking for
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Reliable, dependable, and ready to work every day
- Comfortable using hand tools and power tools
- Good visual acuity and attention to detail
- A team player with clear, open communication skills
- Prior manufacturing or assembly experience is a plus — not required
