Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Fiber Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in telecommunications and with hands-on experience in fiber optic installation. As a Fiber Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and performance of the OSP network.
Duties
- Install and troubleshoot fiber optic cabling systems in various environments.
- Safely operate machinery during the installation process when required
- Utilize hand tools and testing equipment such as voltmeters and ohmmeters to ensure proper installation and functionality.
- Document work performed, including installation reports and test readings.
- Locate existing utilities in and around the jobsite
Requirements
- Proven experience in fiber optic installation, maintenance, or related fields.
- Proficiency with electrical tools and testing equipment such as voltmeters and ohmmeters.
- Familiarity with telecommunication systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently in the field.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and customers.
- Valid driver's license with good 3-year MVR is required.
- Must not be fearful of heights; comfortable working on a ladder as necessary
