We’re Hiring: Field Mechanic
Utility Fleet Services is looking for an experienced Field Mechanic to join our growing team. If you’re motivated, enjoy traveling, and take pride in keeping utility equipment operating safely and reliably, we’d like to hear from you.
Requirements
- 4 years of diesel engine experience (Cummins experience preferred)
- 2 years of air brake system experience
- 2 years of hydraulic experience on aerial equipment
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently in the field
- Ability to perform ANSI inspections and die electric test.
Job Description
As a Field Mechanic, you’ll be responsible for maintaining and repairing a fleet of bucket trucks and digger derricks. Work includes both chassis and aerial device repairs, ranging from routine preventive maintenance to advanced hydraulic and electrical diagnostics and repairs.
Typical duties include:
- Preventive maintenance (PM) services
- Diesel engine diagnostics and repairs
- Air brake system repairs
- Hydraulic troubleshooting and repairs
- Aerial device repairs, including valve block reseals, and component replacement
- Emergency storm response support
Travel & Schedule
This position will start out PART TIME. This position also primarily supports storm restoration and utility contractors across the United States. Extensive travel, long hours, overnight stays, and working in demanding conditions are expected. Flexibility and a strong work ethic are essential.
