We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager with 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience to support financial operations in the construction products industry. This role oversees daily accounting activities, inventory and cost accounting, and internal controls for a business operating across manufacturing, logistics, and sales channels. The Accounting Manager will partner closely with operations, supply chain, sales, and leadership to ensure accurate, timely reporting.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, journal entries, payroll processing, and month-end close activities.
- Oversee inventory and cost accounting for raw materials, work in process, and finished goods, including standard costing and inventory reserves.
- Maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures across plant and corporate accounting activities.
- Coordinate external annual review and assist with tax filings, compliance reporting, and other regulatory requirements.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting team members while identifying opportunities to streamline processes and improve reporting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5–7 years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing, building materials, or a related industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, month-end close, account reconciliation, and internal controls.
- Experience with inventory accounting, cost accounting, standard costing, and variance analysis.
- Experience supervising or leading accounting staff.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills; experience working with manufacturing data is strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate financial data into operational insight.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively across operations, logistics, sales, and leadership teams.
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA or CMA designation preferred.
- Experience in the construction products, building materials, or industrial manufacturing sector.
- Background in external audit and tax support, process improvement, automation, or ERP system implementations.
- Familiarity with freight and multi-site operations.
