Overview
The Project Manager is responsible for the planning, execution, and successful delivery of utility services projects. This role oversees resource allocation, leads a team of up to 25 technicians, and manages team development, customer engagement, and the achievement of production, quality, and safety objectives. It requires a balance of operations management, field leadership, and client relations to ensure that projects are completed efficiently and to the satisfaction of our customers.
Responsibilities
Project Management
- Oversee the full lifecycle of utility services projects, from planning through execution and close-out.
Resource Management
- Optimize personnel, equipment, and other resources to maximize productivity and meet project goals.
- Anticipate and resolve resource conflicts in a fast-paced environment.
Team Leadership
- Build, mentor, and develop high-performing teams to achieve operational excellence.
- Lead field crews by setting expectations, providing support, and fostering a culture of safety and accountability.
Strategic Oversight
- Implement scalable processes and systems to support growth and efficiency.
- Make strategic operational decisions to align company and client objectives.
Customer Engagement
- Serve as the primary point of contact for utility customers throughout the project lifecycle.
- Develop strong relationships by providing responsive communication, proactive updates, and solutions to challenges.
- Ensure customer expectations are met or exceeded, driving long-term satisfaction and repeat business.
Quality & Safety
- Ensure all projects and employees meet safety requirements and company quality standards.
- Proactively monitor compliance and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Drive scheduling, budgeting, and project reporting to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Associates degree in operations management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
- PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or equivalent experience preferred.
- 3 years of progressive experience in operations management, project management, or utility/field services.
- Demonstrated success in managing large-scale, multi-site projects and distributed teams.
- Utility Industry Experience Preferred
