The Field Trainer/Mentor is an experienced individual that provides hands-on coaching and guidance to technicians newly released from training as well as experienced technicians with locating deficiencies. Mentors also share information on the developmental progress of the assigned technicians with the applicable supervisor and the training department

Mentors also share information on the developmental progress of the assigned technicians with the applicable supervisor and the training department
What You’ll Do
The Day-to-Day…
- Applies mentoring skills for the improvement of their mentee as well as planning the optimal learning path for their specific trainee
- Exposes their trainee to all required locate and worksite elements as directed by the center manager's expectations
- Engages with open ended questions, pacing the ticket complexity appropriate to the specific mentee, and clearly communicating learning goals with feedback based on observations and documentation
- Documents communication with and mentoring strategies used for the mentee through the use of forms following the directions outlined on the forms and the framework
- Communicates regularly and within the framework with training team, supervisor and manager using documentation forms
- Immediately communicates challenges encountered with trainee’s growth ( trainee behavior, tickets, time, or communication needs) to Supervisor
- Evaluates performance through observation……
- Works directly with mentees for a period of 2 to 4 weeks depending on skill level, through scheduled in-person and/or virtual setting.
- High School Diploma, GED equivalent, relevant work experience, or a combination of education and work experience preferred.
- 4 years of locating experience with high performing efficiency, safety, and quality performance
- Experience with in-field leadership
- Coaching and/or teaching experience (preferred)
- Possesses strong interpersonal and communication skills
