What you will do
In this role, you'll use your customer service experience, investigative skills, and detail orientation to handle Personal Injury Protection and MedPay claims. Communicating with our insureds and other relevant parties will be required in this role. With technical claims knowledge, you'll also use your decision making skills to settle claims within your assigned authority.
Key responsibilities
- Investigate, evaluate, negotiate and resolve PIP and MedPay claims.
- Operate more independently and resolve claim files within a higher authority limit.
- Ability to interpret coverage, assess comparative negligence, evaluate damages and negotiate settlements with limited supervisor intervention.
- Handle less complex litigated files. On occasion may be required to attend mediation or trials. Direct defense counsel in the resolution of claim.
- Consult with Supervisor on more complex coverage and technical matters.
- May be required to provide technical support for less experienced Specialists.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
What you need:
- Four year degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- 2-4 years Insurance claims experience preferred.
Licensing:
Required to obtain your license(s) as an adjuster in the state(s) in which you are assigned to adjust claims. Licensing must be obtained within the timeframe set forth by the Company and must be maintained as needed throughout your employment.
Salary range: $58,500 - $75,000
The final salary to be paid and position within the internal salary range is reflective of the employee’s work experience, their geographic location, education, certification(s), scope and responsibilities in the role, and additional qualifications.
