Description:
The CTE Teaching Assistant supports classroom and laboratory instruction under the direction of a certified teacher. Responsibilities include assisting students with academic and hands-on learning activities, preparing instructional materials, monitoring student progress and behavior, maintaining a safe and organized learning environment, and support the use of tools, equipment and technology. The Teach Assistant also helps reinforce employability skills, assist with work-based learning and performs related clerical and organizational tasks.
Qualifications:
- NYS Teaching Assistant Certification (any level), required.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working with students in educational, technical or vocational settings preferred.
- Experience in Career and Technical Education, Construction or Electric Vehicle Automotive.
- Ability to support student success, workplace readiness, career explorations and safety.
- OSHA 10 certification must be completed prior to 10/1/2026. To be provided by the District.
