UTHealth Houston’s School of Dentistry is hiring for a Dental Assistant I/II to join their team of professionals in the department of Endodontics. The DA will be responsible for performing all duties required for four-handed chairside dentistry; performing infection control, sterilization, and instrument sterilization in accordance with CDC guidelines; taking CBCTs/Dental Radiographs; fully stocking & maintaining inventory; and more. CPR/BLS Certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) is preferred. Experience working within an Endodontics clinical setting is a plus!

Perform routine tasks assisting the professional dental staff and students in the examination and prophylactic, therapeutic and surgical treatment of patients. Works under direct supervision.
Position Key Accountabilities:
- Assists in the teaching of dental students, dental assisting students, and dental hygiene students in the principles of four-handed dentistry and dental assistant utilization (DAU).
- Provides chair side assistance to students and faculty.
- Maintains sterile, and prepares equipment, instruments, and supplies within working area.
- Maintains infection control standards.
- Maintains records of patients seen, procedures performed, materials used, and appointments.
- Must be able to respond to emergency situations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Basic office or computer skills.
- Manages Human Resources activities of department in regards to: recruiting and selection, hiring and termination, training, professional development, mentoring, counseling, performance evaluations, and salary planning.
- Dental Assistant by Texas State Board of Dental Examiners (TSBDE) required
- 51.215 and Texas Government Code
