UTHealth Houston's School of Dentistry is hiring for a Coordinator I, Educational Programs, to join their team of professionals in the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department. The Coordinator will provide comprehensive administrative support for academic, credentialing, and financial operations within the department. This role is responsible for managing applications for the Student Externship and Professional Observer educational program; coordinating credentialing processes across the School of Dentistry, UT Physicians, and affiliated hospital systems; arranging and facilitating departmental travel and official events; and more. The position plays a critical role in supporting the day-to-day administrative functions of a fast-paced academic clinical environment and requires a detail-oriented professional who is comfortable handling a high volume of administrative and operational tasks. This is essentially an administrative role that is often clerical.

Coordinates and administers educational programs.
Position Key Accountabilities:
- Provides assistance with the coordination of a health education program in order to ensure the achievement of the program's goals and objectives. Conducts surveys and gathers and analyzes health data to assist the faculty in preparation of curriculum and audiovisual instructional materials.
- Assists course coordinators, in a research and/or educational program setting, in classroom teaching assignments, preparation of course syllabi, evaluating classroom presentations, ascertaining the certain behavioral objectives, and ensuring the course outlines and lesson plans are current.
- Organizes and coordinates teaching laboratory materials, maintains a list of all existing equipment and teaching aides.
- Orders and maintains educational materials and equipment in order to ensure the availability of teaching aids for the health education programs. Maintains the Health Education Library, including current audio visual instructional resources, in order to service laboratory and classroom training. Provides support, within a clinical setting, in recommending and implementing policies and procedures to improve the practical clinical experience of the students.
- Directs, within a research setting, a lecture format and laboratory.
- Makes recommendations, in either a clinical or research setting, regarding the development and implementation of new policies and procedures to improve medical care, planning, scheduling, and training of student and residents.
- Maintains and assists faculty with the necessary updates to course related web sites.
- Obtains proctors for examinations as well as proctors exams, assembles examinations, prepares slide carousels for faculty and students, post grades to students, maintains grade rosters, and assists students and faculty with course questions.
- Trains and assists faculty, residents, and other personnel on the slide scanner and other teaching equipment.
