The Assessment Director provides strategic leadership for a comprehensive, institution-wide assessment program that demonstrates educational effectiveness and supports continuous improvement. This role oversees the design, implementation, and evaluation of academic and administrative program reviews, ensuring alignment with accreditation standards and regulatory requirements. The Director leads the coordinated measurement of student learning outcomes across all programs and departments, supports faculty and staff development in assessment practices, and collaborates closely with academic leadership to strengthen curricular and co-curricular outcomes. Serving as a key advisor to senior leadership, the Assessment Director prepares and manages complex institutional reports for accrediting bodies and external agencies, oversees course and faculty evaluations, and ensures the secure management and dissemination of sensitive assessment data. Through rigorous data collection, analysis, and reporting, this position plays a critical role in advancing the school’s strategic goals and fostering a culture of evidence-based decision-making and continuous improvement.

Position Key Accountabilities:
- Prepares annual reports for the school, such as Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Texas Board of Nursing (TBON), Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB), American Association of College of Nurses (AACN), US News and World Report, UTHealth administration and others on institutional effectiveness, oversees student evaluation of courses, faculty evaluations, and serves as evaluator for educational programs/projects.
- Develops and oversees a coordinated process for measurement of student learning outcomes across all academic programs, schools and departments consistent with the expectations of the CCNE and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC).
- Plans and offers appropriate development related to assessment of student learning outcomes for school, departments, faculty and staff.
- Supports continuous academic program assessment (curricular and co-curricular activities) and improvement of student learning through consultation with the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs.
- Works with the Academic Program Directors to support the ongoing development and implementation of comprehensive outcomes assessment programs for all academic and administrative units that support the goals the school's Strategic Plan.
- Provides strategic advice and consultation to leadership in the development, implementation, and evaluation of modifications and enhancements to existing operations, systems, and procedures.
- Records, stores, manages, and disseminates confidential and sensitive assessment data, as appropriate.
