UTEX Industries is seeking an experienced Preform Lead to support daily production operations within our manufacturing facility. This role combines advanced preform operation responsibilities with department lead duties to help drive safety, quality, productivity, and team success.
This is a hands-on leadership position ideal for someone with strong manufacturing experience who enjoys mentoring employees, troubleshooting production issues, and helping lead day-to-day operations on the floor.
What You’ll Do:
As a Preform Lead your responsibilities will include:
- Safely operate preform and material handling equipment
- Support daily production schedules and workflow coordination
- Train and cross-train employees within the department
- Assist supervisors in overseeing department operations
- Monitor product quality and production requirements
- Troubleshoot equipment and assist with minor maintenance needs
- Maintain accurate production and inventory records
- Support safety, housekeeping, and continuous improvement efforts
- Help maintain department metrics and production goals
- Lead by example in attendance, teamwork, safety, and productivity
What We’re Looking For:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 6 years of manufacturing experience preferred
- Previous lead, mentoring, or leadership experience preferred
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Comfortable using measuring tools and production equipment
- Basic computer, math, and communication skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a manufacturing environment requiring PPE
Work Environment:
You’ll work in both manufacturing and office environments, using tools and equipment daily. PPE and steel-toed footwear are required.
Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday.
Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
