Job Posting Title: Administrative Program Coordinator for the Center for Law and Democracy ---- Hiring Department: Department of Government ---- Position Open To: All Applicants ---- Weekly Scheduled Hours: 40 ---- FLSA Status: Exempt ---- Earliest Start Date: Immediately ---- Position Duration: Expected to Continue Until Mar 31, 2029 ---- Location: UT MAIN CAMPUS ---- Job Details: General Notes The University of Texas at Austin is hiring a full-time Administrative Program Coordinator for the Center for Law and Democracy, housed in the university’s Department of Government in the College of Liberal Arts. The Center for Law and Democracy supports research, teaching, and publishing that deepen interdisciplinary work across public law and political science. Home to both long-standing and new research, and innovative partnerships across campus and across the world, the Center convenes faculty, undergraduate students, and graduate students working at the nexus of law and democracy. Started in 2025, the Center is expanding its programs and funding, and this position will be an instrumental part of that effort. This position has a fixed term of three years. The Center is working to raise sustained funding to maintain this position beyond these three years, but that is not yet secured so cannot be guaranteed. What benefits do I receive with UT? Purpose The Administrative Program Coordinator will help advance the work of the Center through program development, fundraising, and grant writing. The position will oversee the daily operation of program activities, work with Center directors to develop and fund new programs, and work with stakeholders across campus and globally to facilitate program objectives. Responsibilities The position responsibilities are to: Develop mechanisms to plan and monitor programs, measure program success, update stakeholders, and document procedures Run student programs by coordinating outreach, application processes, applicant communications, and student preparation Advance fundraising by conducting research, maintaining donor lists, and coordinating donor meetings and materials Advance grant activities by coordinating grant research, proposals, submission, and reporting Develop communications plan, including maintenance of website, social media, newsletter, media list, and outreach list Develop marketing materials, press releases, and presentation materials Organize Center events and travel Monitor budgets and issue payments, reimbursements, and fellowships Supervise student work on Center projects Represent the Center at professional organizations and events Required Qualifications The required qualifications include: Demonstrated interest or experience in law or democracy Excellent organizational and communication skills, along with enthusiasm to improve these skills Minimum 3 years of experience coordinating or administering a program, or analogous leadership experience Experience producing varied types of written products and communications materials Track record of attention to detail, initiative, exceptional work ethic and integrity, and excellent interpersonal relationships Bachelor’s degree in a field related to the work being performed Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate. Preferred Qualifications The preferred qualifications include: Experience organizing and supervising the work of others Graduate degree in a related field Salary Range The salary for this position is $41,700 , depending on qualifications. Working Conditions This is a full-time position working on site at the University of Texas at Austin. Occasional travel may be required. Extended work hours may be required. Work Shift This position is 40 hours per week, with the schedule to be determined with the successful applicant.
