A Day in the Life:
Our treatment program works with teenagers that live in large homes on a beautiful school campus. In this role you will be critical member of their treatment team and have a chance to build meaningful relationships that will inspire and challenge them to achieve their therapeutic goals.
As an Alpine Academy Therapist, you will…
- Complete psychological assessments and treatment plans for clients
- Collaborate as a member of a multidisciplinary, integrated treatment team to develop and deliver treatment plans to patients
- Meet for 1:1 sessions with students each day. Therapy sessions are planned into their academic calendar Monday-Thursday.
- Build rapport and strong therapeutic relationships with students 12-18 years and their families.
- Facilitate group sessions for students facing similar challenges and groups of students living together in family-style homes on campus.
- Provide family therapy sessions for students and their parents as they face the challenges of being away from one another for treatment.
- Provide crisis intervention and guidance to a well trained team of direct care staff

Our Amazing Students:
The youth we serve are ages 12-18 and have generally been referred by their parents. They experience a range of behavioral, emotional, and mental health challenges from eating disorders to Oppositional Defiance Disorder. In general, our students have experienced multiple types of treatment or help in the past, but have been referred to Alpine Academy due to a need for increased level of care or as a step down from a higher level. Students range in their motivation level, but in general, thrive and allow their individual personalities and talents to show as they are given opportunities to develop self-worth, relationships with positive adults, leadership skills, self-determination, and the ability to explore their identity and interests in a safe, fun, and supportive setting.
Get to Know Us:
We have two beautiful rural campuses that sit at the base of the Oquirrh Mountains in Tooele Valley. It is a 40 minute drive west of Salt Lake City along the gorgeous scenic route of I-80 along the shore of the Great Salt Lake. Among other amenities, each campus has several family-style homes in which the youth reside, a school, therapeutic center, and recreation facility.
We use an evidence-based model called the Teaching Family Model to provide treatment to youth who are away from their homes and families for various reasons. Research reports the best place for children and youth to learn is in the home environment in a family setting with adults they trust. Alpine Academy focuses on providing a comprehensive treatment environment where students can thrive and treatment providers are empowered to help them accomplish their goals. Treatment teams include Morning Aides, Teen LIFE Coaches, Therapists, Academic Teachers, Behavioral Specialists, Nutritionists, Psychiatric Healthcare Providers, and more. Our campus includes access to a state of the art fitness center, horses and equine therapy opportunities, an ability to bring animals to work, a generous retirement package and a highly family-friendly work environment.
Things to Note:
- Paid supervision for clinicians working toward licensure
- Salaried pay and small case loads
- Fridays are a flexible paperwork and meeting day (with the ability to do this from home most weeks)
- Once a quarter required participation in a Parent's Weekend allowing clinicians to strengthen their relationship with families they're engaged with.
- Frequent opportunities for training and CEUs
- Regular supervision meetings with the Clinical Director and staffing opportunities clinical colleagues
- Must be qualified to provide mental health therapy (CSW, LCSW, MFT, LMFT, CMHC, ACMHC)
Salary : $65,000 - $80,000
