What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mortuary Transfer Team Member (C) position at Utah Valley Mortuary?
We are looking for individuals who are personable, have a strong work ethic, look & act professional, exhibit a caring demeanor, are excellent listeners, and demonstrate a high level of interpersonal skills.
Participate in one of the most sensitive and rewarding areas of funeral service by responding to calls to respectfully transfer the deceased to the Mortuary. The candidate(s) hired for this position will respond to hospitals, care facilities, and family residences to receive & transport deceased individuals into the care of our mortuary. This position requires excellent people skills while communicating with the family of the deceased. Individuals must have the ability to team lift up to 300 lbs and maneuver stairs; please do not apply if you are not able to meet these physical requirements. This is an on-call position and candidates must be able to quickly arrive (within 20-25 minutes) to the mortuary in order to dispatch as a two-person team; please do not apply if you are not able to arrive, professionally dressed, within this time frame. All necessary training will be provided.
There are no guarantees as to the number of hours that will be provided in any given work week as this is an On-Call and As-Needed position only. We operate 24 hours per day and do not know when we will need to dispatch our transfer team members.

- Daytime = 8:00 am to 6:00 pm
- Evening = 6:00 pm to Midnight
Education & Professional Licenses Required
No education or professional licenses are required.
Experience:
Training will be provided by licensed funeral directors and experienced staff.

Pay:
A minimum of 4 hours ($80) will be paid for each initial response; actual time is typically 1 to 2.5 hours from the time of the initial response until the transfer is completed at the mortuary. Pay is at a rate of $20/hour for any time above 4 hours.
