Overview:
Utah State University Extension is seeking a passionate and community-minded Community Wellbeing Facilitator to support the Crafting Change Empowerment Workshops and related prevention initiatives. This position focuses on strengthening protective factors, reducing stigma, and promoting wellbeing through hands-on workshops, education, and community engagement. Based in the Uintah County Extension Office, the Community Wellbeing Facilitator will teach interactive workshops, develop educational materials, support grant-funded programming, and collaborate with community partners to expand prevention efforts across Uintah County.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys facilitation, creative approaches to education, and working with diverse community members.
Responsibilities:
  • Teach Crafting Change Empowerment Workshops for youth and adults.
  • Develop and update Crafting Change presentations and educational materials.
  • Serve as a principal liaison between USU Extension, community organizations, and stakeholders.
  • Facilitate Naloxone training sessions and other public health education initiatives.
  • Organize and lead interactive workshops focused on protective factors for substance use prevention, including social engagement and hands-on artistic expression.
  • Attend staff meetings, coalition meetings, community events, and assigned trainings.
  • Work collaboratively with faculty and staff to produce presentations and written materials.
  • Monitor and track program participation, collect data for reporting, and ensure grant compliance.
  • Develop educational materials, promotional content, and outreach strategies to increase community engagement.
  • Assist with program budgeting and fiscal reporting.
  • Train and support volunteers or other staff engaged in program activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support program objectives.
  • Utilize and promote social media content
Qualifications:
  • Experience in community outreach, substance use prevention, public health, or related fields.
  • Familiarity with protective and risk factors related to substance use prevention.
  • Ability to effectively teach and engage with both youth and adult populations.
  • Comfortable conducting Naloxone training sessions.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

Advertised Salary: $22.00 an hour ADA:
Employees work indoors and are protected from weather and/or contaminants, but not, necessarily, occasional temperature changes. This position requires moderate physical activity, including the handling of objects up to 25 pounds and/or standing or walking more than one hour per day.
