Permanent Lighting Installer — Residential
Location: Kaysville, UT and nearby Davis County
Pay: $2.50 per installed linear foot, per installer
Crew: Two-person installation crew
Job type: Full time
About the role
We install permanent outdoor lighting on residential homes. We’re looking for dependable, hands-on people who take pride in neat work and are comfortable working outdoors on ladders and around rooflines.
You’ll work as part of a two-person crew and receive hands-on training. Electrical experience or an electrical license is not required. Experience with permanent or holiday lighting, roofing, gutters, siding, construction, or other exterior home services is a plus.
What you’ll do
- Install permanent lighting track and LED lights along residential rooflines, eaves, and other approved exterior locations.
- Measure, cut, align, and fasten track according to the job plan and company standards.
- Use ladders, hand tools, and power tools safely.
- Route and connect lighting components according to the manufacturer’s instructions and training.
- Test the completed system and help address installation adjustments.
- Protect the homeowner’s property, keep the work area orderly, and clean up before leaving.
- Communicate clearly with your crew partner, supervisor, and homeowners.
Pay and production
Installers are paid $2.50 per installed linear foot, per installer. The two-person crew works together on each installation, and each installer earns $2.50 for each completed linear foot.
Crews typically install about 100–200 linear feet per day, depending on the home, roofline, weather, and job complexity. At that production level, the piece-rate amount is approximately $250–$500 per installer per day. Actual daily earnings vary with completed footage and hours worked; this is not a guaranteed hourly rate. For an eight-hour day, that range is about $35–$65 per hour.
What we’re looking for
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work well with a partner.
- Comfortable working on ladders and at residential rooflines.
- Able to work outdoors in changing weather.
- Able to use basic hand and power tools, or willing to learn.
- Detail-oriented and committed to safe, clean workmanship.
- Able to lift and carry lighting materials and equipment.
- Reliable transportation to the Kaysville area and job sites.
Preferred, but not required: Permanent or holiday lighting installation, roofing, gutters, siding, construction, landscaping, or other exterior home-service experience.
What we provide
- Hands-on training and installation instructions.
- Lighting materials and job details.
- A two-person crew structure and residential work.
- Opportunity for ongoing work for reliable, quality-focused installers.
