Are you passionate about developing speed skating athletes and helping them reach the next level? The Utah Olympic Oval is seeking a FAST Long Track Head Coach to guide motivated athletes through high-performance training in a world-class Olympic environment.

This is a year-round coaching position with a flexible schedule that may include evenings and weekends depending on training times and competition schedules.
- Salary range $50,000-$70,000 DOE

Job Requirements
Must Haves
- High-level long track speed skating experience as a competitive athlete or coach, with strong technical knowledge of training and performance development
- Ability to develop athletes through structured training plans, performance feedback, and technical coaching
- Working knowledge of sport science principles including biomechanics, physiology, and athlete development
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build trust, provide accountability, and work collaboratively
- Self-motivated leadership style with the ability to operate independently while supporting program goals
Nice to Haves
- Previous head or assistant coach experience
- Experience developing athletes toward national or international competition
- U.S. Speedskating coaching certification (Level 3) or equivalent coaching credentials
- Familiarity with U.S. Speedskating high-performance pathways
- Experience using video analysis tools or contributing to program development
Day in the Life
Your time will be split between coaching athletes and planning their development. On the ice, you’ll run training sessions, observe technique, and provide feedback to improve performance. Off the ice, you’ll review video, plan training progressions, and meet with athletes to discuss goals and challenges. You’ll also collaborate with Oval coaches while mentoring athletes and reinforcing accountability. This role is ideal for a coach who enjoys developing athletes and seeing steady progress over time.
