Responsibilities
- Serve as a mentor, and guide existing providers.
- Travel throughout the state, assisting with provider onboarding, shadowing, and training.
- Provide face-to-face psychiatric services to patients directly in Skilled Nursing Facilities.
- Assess the patient’s mental status based on symptoms.
- Appropriately diagnose DSM-V disorders and develop treatment plans.
- Apply appropriate medical decision-making skills for mental health issues including psychopharmacology options and non-pharmacological treatments.
- Staff clinical cases with psychiatrists.
- Licensed in Utah by the Board of Nursing in good standing with a focus in psychiatry.
- Licensed by the Utah Board of Pharmacy in good standing to prescribe controlled substances (possession of a DEA)
- 3 years of Geri Psych Experience.
- 3 years providing treatment within Skilled Nursing Facilities and/or Acute Rehab Hospitals.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Excellent written communication.
- Attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Flexible, organized, and functions under stressful situations.
- Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
