Position Overview

The Site Coordinator provides leadership and day-to-day management of Utah Neighborhood Connection's 21st Century Community Learning Center (21st CCLC) after-school and summer programs. This position oversees daily operations, staff supervision, student recruitment, program quality, data collection, grant compliance, and family engagement to ensure the successful implementation of high-quality programming.

Reports to the Director of Utah Neighborhood Connection. The primary work site is the Ogden Connection Center, located at 789 2nd St. Ogden.  

Working closely with the Director, Academic Alignment Lead, Ogden School District, Highland Junior High, and community partners, the Site Coordinator ensures students receive safe, educational, and enriching experiences while meeting all federal, state, and grant requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Program Operations

  • Oversee daily operations of the after-school and summer programs.
  • Plan, schedule, and supervise academic enrichment, tutoring, mentoring, recreation, and leadership activities.
  • Coordinate guest speakers, volunteers, community partners, and special events.
  • Plan and coordinate educational field trips and summer programming.
  • Oversee staff planning, purchasing, and managing of student meals and snacks in compliance with Health Department requirements.
  • Maintain program calendars, staff schedules, and activity schedules.
  • Ensure a safe, welcoming, and positive environment for youth, families, staff, and volunteers.
  • Support organizational events and other UNC initiatives as needed.

Staff Leadership

  • Supervise, coach, and support program staff and volunteers.
  • Conduct staff training, performance evaluations, and ongoing professional development.
  • Assist with recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and retaining high-quality staff.
  • Provide guidance on classroom management, behavior intervention, and positive youth development practices.

Student Services & Family Engagement

  • Manage student recruitment, enrollment, and retention.
  • Track daily student attendance and participation.
  • Provide administrative oversight of student homework support and monitor academic progress.
  • Maintain regular communication with parents and guardians regarding attendance, student progress, and behavior.
  • Coordinate family engagement events, workshops, and conferences.
  • Build strong relationships with students, families, Highland Junior High, Ogden School District, Weber State University, and community organizations.

Data Management & Grant Compliance

  • Maintain accurate student records and ensure confidentiality.
  • Collect, manage, and analyze program data using KidTrax and other required systems.
  • Track attendance, grades, academic outcomes, curriculum completion, and participation data in collaboration with Ogden School District, Highland Junior High, and the Academic Alignment Lead.
  • Conduct weekly and monthly program data reviews to monitor progress toward grant objectives.
  • Prepare documentation and reports for federal, state, and local grant reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with all 21st Century Community Learning Center grant requirements and organizational policies.
  • Support continuous program improvement through data analysis and quality assessments.

Community Partnerships

  • Coordinate services with schools, nonprofit organizations, higher education partners, and community agencies.
  • Organize career readiness, workforce development, and mentoring opportunities in collaboration with community partners.
  • Represent Utah Neighborhood Connection at school meetings, community events, conferences, recruiting events, and after-school network meetings.
  • Participate in district and school planning meetings to strengthen collaboration and student outcomes.

Organizational Leadership

  • Meet regularly with the Director to review program performance, grant outcomes, staffing needs, and strategic goals.
  • Provide updates and reports to the Director and Board of Directors.
  • Assist with organizational planning, evaluation, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the mission of Utah Neighborhood Connection.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Work, Human Services, Nonprofit Management, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience managing youth programs, after-school programs, summer programs, or similar nonprofit initiatives.
  • Experience supervising and developing staff and volunteers.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and project management skills.
  • Experience collecting, managing, and reporting program data.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with youth, families, schools, and community partners.
  • Commitment to serving diverse communities with integrity, professionalism, and respect.

Preferred

  • Experience working with federally funded education grants, particularly 21st Century Community Learning Centers.
  • Familiarity with KidTrax or similar student management systems.
  • Experience with grant reporting, compliance, and program evaluation.
  • Knowledge of positive youth development, trauma-informed practices, and behavior management strategies.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

Work Environment

  • This position requires flexibility, including weekday afternoons and evenings during program hours, summer programming, and occasional weekends for family events, trainings, conferences, and community outreach activities.
