JOB SUMMARY:
The Utah Mammoth Practice Facility Grassroots Coordinator is responsible for planning, scheduling, marketing, communicating (both internally and externally), and fully implementing all Grassroots hockey programs hosted at the practice facility.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Under the direction of the Utah Mammoth Practice Facility Programs Manager, the Grassroots Coordinator will assist and coordinate the following:
- Rookie league.
- Homeschool hockey.
- Youth focused camps & clinics.
- 2-3 annual tournaments.
- Collaborate with Next Gen Hockey Coordinator for implementation of Learn to Play and Continue to Play.
- Industry Growth Fund (IGF) initiatives and programs.
- All existing programming, as well as any and all new programming that may be developed and/or administered by the Youth Programs Department.
- Ensuring strict compliance with all IGF requirements and standards, as well as any and all sponsor requirements and standards.
- Ordering sufficient quantities of coaching and playing materials or other promotional items/equipment, as approved by your Director and as necessary in order to implement each of the above programs.
- Ensuring sufficient staffing for all youth programs events including participating in such events as an instructor.
- Other duties, projects, and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Hockey Programming Manager.
- Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Management, Sports Administration, Hospitality, or a related field (preferred but not always required).
- 1–3 years of experience in program coordination, event planning, or recreational facility operations.
- Experience working with youth and adult programming in sports, skating, or community recreation is a strong asset.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain relationships with a varied group of individuals.
- Self-starter, with the ability to manage several projects at once, in a fast paced, ever-changing environment.
- High level of professionalism, organization, reliability, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work long hours, evenings, weekends and holidays as required.
- Employees must have reliable transportation to and from work, as well as occasional ability to travel to meet potential clients and attend industry conferences.
- Must possess a valid Utah driver’s license.
- Must be able to pass a Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) screening in accordance with company policy and insurance requirements.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to juggle multiple programs and priorities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with staff, participants, and external partners.
- Proficiency in scheduling software, registration platforms, and basic office tools (e.g., Google Suite).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Creative problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to improving program quality and efficiency.
