Utah First Credit Union is seeking to add a full-time, 40 hour a week, Vice President, Human Resources at our Salt Lake City, UT office. The ideal Vice President, Human Resources is a forward-looking, strategic leader who will help shape the future of our workforce and culture as Utah First continues to grow and scale. This role is more than managing HR operations, it's about transforming how we attract, develop, and inspire talent.

This role will lead all aspects of HR, including talent acquisition, employee engagement, leadership development, organizational effectiveness, learning and development as well as participate in the deployment of compensation and benefits and compliance, while serving as a trusted advisor to the executive team.

Strategic Leadership

  • Partner with leadership to align HR strategy with Utah First's growth plans.
  • Lead workforce planning, succession planning, and organizational design to support scale and growth.
  • Champion a people first culture rooted in impeccable member service, accountability, innovation, and belonging.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor on talent and culture.

Talent and Culture

  • Reimagine talent acquisition, onboarding, and retention to meet the needs of a growing organization.
  • Build leadership development, coaching, career pathing, and learning programs to strengthen bench strength and succession planning.
  • The HR Manager will drive employee engagement strategies, ensuring every employee feels connected to the mission of Utah First.

HR Operations and Compliance

  • Implement HR technologies, data, and analytics to inform decision-making and measure success.
  • Oversee implementation of compensation and total rewards strategy to remain competitive and fair.
  • Continually assess and improve HR processes to create best in class employee experience.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable employment laws and regulations.

Change and Transformation Leadership

  • Lead organizational change initiatives with clarity and data backed insight.
  • Provide guidance on employee relations, performance management and conflict resolution.
  • Build alignment across functional work areas during periods of growth and transformation.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field, Masters degree or HR certifications (SHRM-SCP or SPHR) preferred, 10 years of progressive HR leadership experience, with significant experience leading in a scaling or transforming organization. Proven track record of aligning people strategy with business growth and transformation. Exceptional communication, influence, and relationship building skills. Deep understanding of modern HR technologies, analytics, and compliance. Experience in financial services or credit unions a plus, but not required.

The Utah First story began in 1935, in the midst of the Great Depression. A group of German immigrants were having a difficult time finding anyone to help them with the loans they needed to bring their families to America. They banded together to form a grassroots credit union that would serve all members of the community. Here, people found the positive answers' and opportunities' they needed to build their future.
