Utah Fertility Center’s Idaho Falls location is hiring a full-time Medical Assistant to join our team! This is an opportunity to work in the innovative and exciting field of fertility and join an extraordinary and committed staff.
Our medical assistants play a vital role by providing both administrative and clinical support, contributing to the delivery of high-quality patient care, and helping to ensure the smooth operation of our facilities.
This position includes but is not limited to the following responsibilities:
- Escorting patients to examination rooms and preparing them for procedures.
- Assisting providers with patient examinations and treatments.
- Taking vital statistics and updating medical information through EMR.
- Providing patient education and instructions regarding medications, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
- Scheduling patient appointments.
- Answering phone calls.
- Updating and maintaining patient medical records.
- Preparing and sterilizing medical instruments and equipment.
- Perform venipuncture.
- Verify patient identity using proper identification methods to ensure the blood samples are correctly labeled and matched with the appropriate patient.
- Collect blood specimens in appropriate tubes or containers, following proper procedures to prevent contamination and maintain sample integrity. Label specimens accurately and record the necessary information for identification and tracking.
- Following protocols and procedures.
- Following privacy regulations such as the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
