What are the responsibilities and job description for the Social Media Manager position at Utah City?
About Utah City
Utah City is a 700-acre master-planned community redefining what modern, human-centered urban living looks like in Utah County. Built on walkability, timeless design, wellness, and social connection, Utah City is where architecture, culture, and community evolve together.
The Role
The Social Media Manager will be a steward of Utah City's digital voice across a story universe that spans community building, athletics and fitness programming, culinary arts, construction milestones, cultural moments, retail launches, and the sub-brands that make this place what it is.
This role sits at the intersection of storytelling and strategy, responsible for translating a complex, long-term vision into compelling, cohesive content across key platforms. We're looking for someone who doesn't wait to be briefed. Someone who walks through a Run Club on a Wednesday morning and immediately sees three content ideas. Someone who can turn a concrete pour into a story worth telling, and a grand opening into a moment worth remembering.
You will help shape how Utah City is seen, felt, and understood by residents, future residents, partners, media, and the broader audience watching what we're building.
Responsibilities
Brand and Storytelling
- Own and execute Utah City's social media voice in alignment with overall marketing goals and content strategy.
- Translate masterplan milestones, openings, construction progress, athletics programming, culinary stories, and community life into thoughtful narratives.
- Maintain consistency across tone, pacing, visuals, and messaging for Utah City and its sub-brands.
Content Strategy and Creation
- Develop and manage monthly and quarterly content calendars across Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and emerging platforms.
- Collaborate with internal teams, photographers, videographers, designers, and partners to create original content.
- Live post during events, activations, and community moments. From Run Club mornings to late-night Fini Hoops games, capturing the energy in real time across Stories, Reels, and TikTok.
- Bring independent creative ideas to the table, not just execution of briefs.
Community and Engagement
- Actively engage with followers and partners in a timely, thoughtful, and brand-appropriate manner.
- Monitor DMs and comments, routing operational questions to the appropriate teams while maintaining brand tone.
- Foster a sense of belonging among residents and early adopters.
- Proactively identify and vet potential content creators and organic brand advocates who align with Utah City's values.
Campaigns and Launches
- Support major milestones including residential openings, retail launches, events, and seasonal programming. Partner with marketing, PR, and leasing teams to align social content with broader campaigns.
Analytics and Optimization
- Track performance metrics and engagement trends across platforms.
- Provide monthly insights and recommendations rooted in data and qualitative feedback.
- Work closely with the Director of Marketing and Head of Content to ensure strategies are working, making adjustments as needed.
Qualifications
- 2–4 years of social media management experience, preferably in lifestyle, real estate, hospitality, design, or placemaking
- Strong editorial instincts and the ability to self-generate content ideas across a wide range of stories
- Deep understanding of Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn as storytelling platforms
- Proven ability to capture and produce polished content independently — photography and video editing skills required
- Highly organized, proactive, and comfortable in a fast-moving environment
- On-site presence required — this role lives where the stories are happening
Bonus Points
- Experience with master-planned communities, mixed-use developments, or destination brands
- Background in design, architecture, urbanism, or cultural storytelling
- Visual literacy across composition, architecture, interiors, urban design, and lifestyle aesthetics
