Job Summary
The Licensed Speech Language Pathology Assistant will assist the Speech Language Pathologist with providing Speech Therapy to students at UT Tyler University Academy. The licensed speech language pathology assistant will keep detailed therapy notes and document therapy services in the district’s data management system. The speech language pathologist assistant will monitor progress and report student progress to the speech language pathologist.
Essential Functions
Plan and provide appropriate individual and group speech therapy to students consistent with speech and language goals contained in the Individualized Education Plan
Monitor student progress during therapy sessions
Communication with the Speech Language Pathologist
Coordination with the Speech Language Pathologist for supervision hours
Travel between campuses to provide therapy
Preparation of therapy materials
Necessary UTTUA documentation and training for district responsibilities
If the speech pathologist completes virtual testing, assist by facilitating as needed
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology/Communication Sciences & Disorders
Current SLPA License in Texas in good standing
Preferred Qualifications
2 years Speech Language Pathologist Assistant experience
Accompanying Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Competencies
Knowledge of School-Based Speech Services
Knowledge of therapy for a variety of Speech and Language Impairments
Salary : $47,000 - $64,000
