The Department of Neurology at UT Southwestern Medical Center is a nationally recognized leader in the comprehensive management of neurological conditions. Our vibrant department comprises more than 75 full-time faculty in 12 subspecialty sections, supporting a spectrum of complex and innovative approaches to neurological care, a broad range of novel research programs, and a panoply of educational opportunities for trainees. The department offers access to the latest innovative treatments in one of the most rapidly advancing fields of medicine. Through collaborations with the O’Donnell Brain Institute, the department is building state-of-the art facilities for drug and device testing and bringing current and new faculty together for collaborative research on brain disease therapy. The Neurology Division of Biostatistics and Clinical Informatics team partners with the UT Southwestern Clinical Informatics Center, which is a dynamic interdisciplinary community of physicians, scientists, students, researchers, and developers whose goal is to leverage and generate knowledge from research and experience in biomedical informatics, data sciences, social sciences, clinical sciences and other domains for the generation of knowledge and informatics-based products or services to improve quality and safety, the efficiency of patient care, and the health of people in general.
The IMAGINe Lab (Informatics for Multidisciplinary Advancement, Guidance, and Innovation in Neuroscience) is seeking a motivated Informatics Coordinator to support the day-to-day organization and management of interdisciplinary research projects. This role will work closely with investigators and team members to ensure projects are well coordinated, documented, and operationally efficient within a dynamic research environment.
JOB SUMMARY
The Informatics Coordinator provides administrative, regulatory, and operational support for research and informatics activities within a multidisciplinary laboratory environment. This position is responsible for coordinating IRB submissions and approvals, developing and maintaining standard operating procedures, supporting hiring and onboarding activities, and assisting with project coordination across multiple studies.
The role also supports day‑to‑day lab operations by tracking budgets, timelines, and documentation; maintaining shared resources and the lab website; and facilitating meetings through agenda preparation, documentation, and follow‑up. The Informatics Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring regulatory compliance, organizational efficiency, and effective communication across research teams.

JOB DUTIES
- Analyzes, coordinates, and evaluates program operation and procedures.
- Develops or oversees development of budget for program.
- Develops, cultivates, and maintains working relationships with internal/external departments/agencies and other organizations associated with and/or receiving benefit from program.
- Establishes program goals and objectives and directs program evaluation and quality control activities; develops and/or approves schedules, priorities, and standards for achieving goals.
- Plans and coordinates special events. Participates in conferences. Presents data and program information.
- Responsible for design, execution, and effectiveness of system of internal controls, which provides reasonable assurance that operations are effective and efficient, assets are safeguarded, and financial information is reliable.
- Ensures compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Reads literature and attends functions to keep abreast of relevant scientific and technical developments related to program.
- May provide supervision to staff members.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
