JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for the maintenance of ambulatory and departmental policies, assuring compliance with regulatory requirements and evaluating evidence for best practice. Coordinates with multidisciplinary leadership, executive sponsors, policy owners and/or content experts throughout the institution for review and implementation of ambulatory policies. Coordinates and fosters the development of an evidence-based approach to clinical practice. Uses leadership, mentoring, education and role modeling skills to guide staff in translating evidence into practice to improve patient care and outcomes.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Required
- Education
Bachelor's Degree In related field and
- Experience
3 years Experience in a healthcare setting and
May have an equivalent combination of education and experience to substitute for both the education and the experience requirements.
- Licenses and Certifications
Must have current license, if applicable.
Preferred
- Education
Bachelor's Degree of Science in Nursing (BSN) or other clinical specialty and
Master's Degree
- Experience
Related experience in health care, academic, or publications environment strongly preferred.
JOB DUTIES
- Assist with coordinating, developing, evaluating, reviewing, revising, and evaluating the policies and procedures with research of evidence based practice while integrating applicable standards and regulations.
- Responsible for maintaining electronic policy and procedure repository through policy management software
- Provide assistance for ambulatory departments and clinics with policies and procedures for their respective areas.
- Works in collaboration with all disciplines to ensure policies, procedures, and practices are compliant with regulatory standards. Coordinates with policy owners to assure that no duplication or conflicts in policy exist throughout the system.
- Establishes and maintains collaborative relationships across the institution by providing responsive customer service, follow through, and communication. Assist with the Hospital Policy Committee meetings and follow-ups to ensure all policy and procedures documents are properly vetted, reviewed and approved.
- Analyze complex content information gathered from different sources into a clear and logical written policy or procedure, streamline processes and flowcharts.
- Maintains knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, policies, laws, and guidelines that impact clinical practices and patient safety.
- Ensures that the appropriate staff is notified of new/revised polices/procedures in a timely manner and collaborates with clinical education in identification of education needs and development/delivery of education content as needed.
