What are the responsibilities and job description for the Neurologist - Sleep position at UT Southwestern Medical Center?
The Departmebnt of Neurology at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center is seeking an academic Sleep Neurologist. UT Southwestern is recognized for offering an exceptional level of expertise in Sleep disorders, providing effective treatment options based on the latest research and the highest standards of care. The Sleep Medicine Section is an integral part of the wider multi-disciplinary and multi-departmental sleep medicine program involving the departments of Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Family and Community Medicine, Psychiatry, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Otolaryngology, and Neuroscience. The Department of Neurology has a robust departmental Faculty Development Program consisting of didactic series on how to be successful in academics and a dedicated mentorship program provided by senior faculty members for each junior member; each faculty member is assigned a mentor. The successful candidate will conduct subspeciality clinical care and research focused on Sleep disorders.
- Possess or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Texas
- Board certified/board eligible by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology for adult or child neurology
- Completed a one year fellowship in Sleep
- Ability to demonstrate excellence in clinical medicine, interpersonal interactions, communication, teamwork skills and be a motivateed self-starter
- Faculty members are expected to participate in academic and clinical reesearch activities
