What are the responsibilities and job description for the Faculty - Combined Medicine and Pediatrics position at UT Southwestern Medical Center?
The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Department of Pediatrics and Department of Internal Medicine are seeking outstanding individuals for Med-Peds hospital medicine faculty positions in the Division of Combined Internal Medicine and Pediatrics.
As fully integrated members of both the Internal Medicine and Pediatric Hospital Medicine programs, Med-Peds hospital medicine faculty will provide direct care of hospitalized patients at both Children’s Health Dallas and Parkland Health, a public safety net hospital in Dallas, TX. The Parkland hospital medicine group consists of 80 faculty, and the pediatric hospital medicine division has 40 faculty and undergoing significant growth. At both hospitals, hospital medicine faculty staff multiple inpatient services and provide 24/7 in house coverage on solo services, as well as teaching services involving students and residents.
We are especially interested in applicants with interests and/or experience in teaching, as faculty supervise and teach UT Southwestern medical students, residents from UT Southwestern Med-Peds, Pediatrics, and Internal Medicine programs, and residents from other programs and affiliated institutions. Faculty will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of scholarly activities, as well as involvement and leadership in clinical operations, process improvement, utilization management, or educational administration. Faculty will have ample opportunities for career advancement in their areas of interest and expertise.
Applicants must be eligible for medical licensure in the state of Texas and must be board eligible or certified in both Pediatrics and Internal Medicine.
