EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Required
- Education
Bachelor's Degree in chemistry, biology, medical terminology or related field.
- Experience
5 years of experience in human invitro fertilization procedures.
JOB DUTIES
- Supervise and oversee work of lower level employees. Assist laboratory director in training of Embryologist I and Embryologist II level employees.
- Perform all embryology laboratory procedures.
- Perform patient consultations for laboratory consent forms.
- Demonstrate sufficient competency in basic embryology and andrology procedures needed for in-vitro fertilization.
- Identify and collect oocytes for insemination.
- Analyze and prepare specimens for insemination or for Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI).
- Assess fertilization and zygote quality following insemination.
- Assess daily grading and handling of embryos.
- Prepare embryos for intrauterine transfer, cryopreservation and thawing of embryos at varying stages of development.
- Perform cryopreservation and thawing of oocytes and embryos.
- Perform embryo biopsy
- Ensure IVF laboratory quality assurance and control.
- Responsible for maintenance of laboratory documentation.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
