Clinical Associate Professor

The Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Management at UT Southwestern Medical Center is seeking a highly motivated Academic General Anesthesiologist to join our expanding team. This position offers a unique opportunity to provide a wide variety of anesthesia care while contributing to the department’s academic, research, and teaching missions.

Position Highlights

• Provide anesthesia care for a broad range of surgical procedures across multiple specialties and obstetric care, including labor analgesia and cesarean delivery.
• Deliver high-quality perioperative care and ensure patient safety throughout the surgical continuum.
• Supervise and teach residents, fellows, and medical students in both clinical and didactic settings.
• Participate in departmental academic activities, such as research, quality improvement, and scholarly projects.
• Engage in collaborative, multidisciplinary clinical care across the institution.

• MD, DO, or equivalent degree.
• Board certification or board eligibility in Anesthesiology (ABA or equivalent).
• Obstetric Anesthesiology fellowship training
• Eligible for medical licensure in the state of Texas.
• Demonstrated interest in education, scholarship, and academic contributions.
• Commitment to excellence in patient care, teamwork, and professional development.
• Candidates with subspecialty training in cardiothoracic, pediatric, regional, neurosurgical, or transplant anesthesia, as well as critical care, pain management, hyperbaric medicine, and perioperative medicine are welcome to apply.
