A Research Intern position is available in the in the Health Disparities Research Department (HDR) of the Division of Cancer Prevention and Population Sciences at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. Under the mentorship of Dr. McNeill, the intern will engage in cutting-edge research aimed at understanding and addressing health disparities in cancer prevention, treatment, and survivorship. the intern will be an integral part of an interdisciplinary research team and will contribute to various aspects of the research process, including but not limited to data collection and analysis, community engagement, regular team meetings on and off campus.

All duties and responsibilities are carried out in compliance with institutional policies, ethical research standards, and applicable federal and state regulations.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Attend cancer prevention grand rounds, lectures and departmental brown bag sessions to expand understanding of cancer health disparities. these meetings will prepare the trainee on how to conduct themselves for larger meetings. Participate in weekly meetings to discuss progress of projects. these meetings can be team meetings or one on one with manage or mentor. Attend weekly team meetings to learn about our studies as well as participate in data collection, recruitment and learn to assist with data entry activities. Research data collection is crucial to a research project, and trainee will be shown how to collect such important data.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicant must hold a bachelor's or master's degree.

Degree must have been obtained recently (within one year).

Applicant must have previous research experience.

Applicants who hold a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree (e.g., M.D., D.V.M., M.B.B.S.) are not eligible
