Under limited supervision, responsible for independently applying clinical laboratory techniques in the performance of test procedures to provide data used in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
Responsibilities
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in related field required.
Certification
MLS required within one year of hire
Required Skills
Five (5) years experience is required.
Under limited supervision, responsible for independently applying clinical laboratory techniques in the performance of test procedures to provide data used in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
Responsibilities
- Assists in the daily operations of the laboratory, exercising good judgement and responsibility in all areas of testing.
- Troubleshoots technical/non-technical problems of a highly complex nature.
- Reviews and documents quality control data and performs corrective action on failed tests.
- Reviews all quality assurance data and generates the appropriate reports for review.
- Provides supervision to entry level staff and manages the laboratory in the Chief Technologist’s absence.
- Assigns duties to laboratory staff. Secures media and supplies for clinical testing and research studies and manages supply requests.
- Assists in the review and revision of laboratory policies and procedures and in the preparation for laboratory inspections by various regulatory/accrediting agencies.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
