Under direct supervision, responsible for the operation and maintenance of utility equipment in the institution's buildings.
Responsibilities
One (1) year of related experience required, or six (6) months experience working in a comparable Health Thermal Energy Plant environment.

Responsibilities
- Maintains and operates air compressors, fans, pumps, hot water converters, pressure reducing stations, air delivery systems, thermostats, and water conditioning equipment in the institute facilities.
- Maintains heating and air conditioning equipment to include cleaning coils, replacing air filters, troubleshooting control circuits and repairing pumps.
- Performs water testing, analysis, and documentation on utility systems.
- Performs minor plumbing and electrical maintenance on equipment and building and plant utility systems.
- Performs pipe fitting, painting, housekeeping, and other miscellaneous tasks and logs service provided.
- May be required to fill in for absent shift personnel.
- Trains for higher level positions.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of equipment assembly, installation, operations, repair, and maintenance (HVAC, electrical, steam).
- Ability to interpret and follow instructions, specifications, etc. (includes blueprint reading).
- Ability to use and maintain tools and equipment.
- Ability to comply with institutional and job specific safety rules and regulations.
- Ability to communicate in a courteous, pleasant and professional manner.
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Valid TX driver's license is required - must have a clear driving record.
