- UT Health East Texas Rehabilitation Center includes a 48-bed inpatient hospital, 14 outpatient therapy clinics, 11 cardiopulmonary rehabilitation clinics and nine Olympic fitness centers, with access to some of the most advanced therapy techniques and care available.
Responsibilities
- The Personal Trainer is responsible for providing users of the facility with a personalized fitness and healthy lifestyle program, which includes assessment of fitness needs and prescribing an exercise/lifestyle plan that will assist the customer in achieving their goals.
- Greets each user and guest who enters the fitness floor with an engaging and enthusiastic attitude and ensures they get to know the individual by name.
- Provides user with a personalized fitness program, including the development of the program, instruction in the execution of the program and supporting the user in adhering to the prescribed program.
- Achieves monthly personal training and related revenue program targets as established by the facility.
- Provides support in properly maintaining and cleaning the fitness equipment and fitness floor.
- Maximizes the safety of each user by assisting in appropriate fitness area/equipment instruction/supervision and appropriate exercise program development, based on each individual’s health and fitness condition.
- Upholds facility rules and regulations to maintain a safe and pleasing environment for all users.
- Attends all regularly scheduled staff meetings and participates in required training.
Qualifications
Job Requirements:
- High School Graduate 18 years of age or older
- CPR and AED certification required
- Professional fitness certification from an approved professional organization such as ACSM, ACE, Cooper, NSCA or NASM required within 6 months of employement.
Preferred Requirements:
- One year of experience as a personal trainer or fitness instructor preferred
- Associates degree in Health and Kinesiology or related field preferred
