- UT Health Pittsburg offers 25 private rooms, a 24-hour Level IV trauma center and Level III stroke center, surgical suites, advanced diagnostics, a sleep lab, swing bed care, 16 physician offices, and a UT Health East Texas Olympic Center fitness facility.
Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive technical and clinical support for respiratory care services across our hospitals.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in respiratory care practices and technologies.
- Evaluating and making recommendations for services.
- Attempting to maintain a high level of didactic and psychomotor skills in order to perform assigned duties.
- Demonstrating proficiency in providing respiratory care services to include but not limited to the following modalities: invasive and non-invasive ventilatory care, aerosolized medication delivery systems, breathing exercises, oxygen delivery (set-up and maintenance) devices, postural drainage, pulse oximetry and bedside pulmonary function testing.
- Maintaining high standards of professionalism.
- Attends appropriate in-service in education both departmental and hospital wide.
Qualifications
Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of an accredited JRCRTE respiratory care training program
- Active certification with the state of Texas upon hire only. Recertification upon expiration preferred
- BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
