SUMMARY:

The Instructional Designer I at UT Federal Credit Union plays a pivotal role in shaping the growth and skill enhancement of our team across all job families. This position is dedicated to the design and development of a variety of training courses and programs, ensuring that new hires smoothly transition into their roles and that ongoing learning initiatives meet the developmental needs of our staff. Under supervision of the Director of Organizational Development, this position translates organizational needs into integrated learning and development plans for internal audiences that inspires increased performance levels with a focus on skill mastery, executional excellence and leadership development.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

  • Engage Learners: Develop engaging learning activities and compelling course content to enhance learner retention.
  • Multimedia Design: Create content across multiple mediums, including classroom-based instruction, eLearning or digital learning, job aids, and web-based learning.
  • Supportive Materials: Develop supporting materials and media, including audio, video, simulations, skill application, and gamification.
  • Best Practices Implementation: Understand, implement, and follow innovative instructional design best practices.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure the delivery of high-quality and timely educational materials.
  • Performance Criteria: Determine criteria for measuring learner performance and develop appropriate assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of training programs, ensuring the transfer of learning and identifying areas for improvement measuring to identified key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Research and Analysis: Conduct instructional research and analyze training methodologies and content development for continuous improvement.
  • Collaborative Approach: Collaborate with subject matter experts to identify and determine learning needs and the development of content
  • Ensure Accuracy and Relevance: Update training presentations, participant guides, job aids and other materials to ensure accuracy and alignment with business needs.

  • Communication Skills: Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey complex information clearly and effectively.
  • Presentation and Appearance: Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance in accordance with UT Federal Credit Union's standards during all instructional activities.
  • Technical Proficiency: Exhibit advanced technological proficiency and knowledge in designing, developing, and implementing instructional materials.

 

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:

  • Program Design: Create engaging instructional programs with realistic objectives and compelling content tailored to various learning platforms.
  • Content Development: Develop educational materials across diverse platforms, including eLearning modules, classroom-based instruction, self-study guides, and web-based learning.
  • Collaboration with Experts: Partner with subject matter experts to assess and identify learning needs, ensuring the development of relevant and effective instructional content.
  • Effective Communication: Clearly and effectively communicate complex information to facilitate understanding and knowledge transfer. Collaborating with subject matter experts to design the key competencies required.
  • Objective Formulation: Develop clear, measurable learning objectives that enhance learner engagement and retention.
  • Engaging Activities: Design interactive learning activities aimed at improving knowledge retention and practical application using but not limited to knowledge checks, quizzes, and gamification.

 

  • Application of Best Practices: Utilize current best practices in instructional design to craft impactful and effective learning experiences.
  • Material Quality: Ensure that all instructional materials meet high-quality standards and are delivered within established timelines.
  • Comprehensive Material Preparation: Prepare detailed instructional materials, including binders, handouts, presentation slides, visuals, and exercises, for live, digital, and online learning environments.

 

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree from a four‑year college or university in a related field preferred; and two to five years' technical training experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
