What are the responsibilities and job description for the Deckhand position at USWT?
Deckhand
Enjoy spending time on the water? Interested in traveling for work? Whether your interests lie close to home or further away, Norfolk Tug Company has opportunities for you! Our company works to deliver safe, dependable services to our customers and has been operating under the same management for nearly 20 years. While the towing industry is often dynamic, Norfolk Tug Company is a transportation organization that provides a reliable work environment for our employees with consistent time on, and time off the boat.
While our company has grown tremendously since the beginning, we still operate with the same ‘small-company’ family-feel. We’re looking for similar-minded, career-driven individuals with a strong work ethic and stable sea-legs who are comfortable working and living aboard our tugs for two-weeks at a time (followed by a similar time-off period).
An ideal candidate will be eager to learn, a good team-player, and comfortable working independently. While maritime experience is beneficial, it is not required for this position. Our company has developed a training bootcamp to prepare both new and experienced mariners for work and life aboard our tugs, with additional continuous learning and training opportunities available.
Norfolk Tug Company offers competitive day-rates and benefits, including healthcare, vision and dental; short and long-term disability; life insurance; and 401k-matching opportunities.
