Summary
The Tennis Instructor teaches and facilitates basic community tennis programs that do not require complex teaching techniques. This is an hourly position that is ideal for a new instructor who is looking for experience on the court. This position has the potential to develop into a tennis professional role based on performance and further certification.
Essential Duties
- Creates a welcoming, safe, and fun learning environment for the participants.
- Provides basic tennis instruction to youth and adults through red, orange and green ball curriculum that follows USTA Florida standards and guidelines.
· Assists in the delivery of tennis clinics, regular programs, camps, mixers, special events.
· Assists with delivering Junior Team Tennis, Love To Learn, Special Olympics and other community programming.
· Ensures proper charging of fees and rental of equipment.
· Properly inspects courts/facilities prior to the start of play, ensures all necessary maintenance has been performed and the courts are in safe, working order.
· Maintains equipment in good working condition.
- Reports any maintenance issues to the site manager or director.
- Responsible for implementing safety rules and compliance, reports any notable concerns, incidents, and safety hazards.
- Provides feedback on students and programs after each class.
· May assist with special events and workshops.
- Performs other job-related duties as requested

Minimum Qualifications
- 3-5 years of Tennis play experience required
- 1 year experience as a Tennis Instructor preferred
- USTA, RSPA or PTR Instructor Certification preferred
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver license and have reliable transportation
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products, Excel, Office 365, and Outlook
- Must be able to read and write English; Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
- Must have a professional and positive attitude
- Must be able to pass the USTA Safe Play and USTA FL Section background checks
- Must be able to participate in potentially strenuous physical activity
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to utilize court reservation software/POS software
- Outgoing and engaging personality that will ensure an enjoyable and entertaining environment in a safe and professional setting
- Must play at a USTA level of 3.5 or above
· Ability to demonstrate advanced knowledge of the game of Tennis
- Tennis Equipment knowledge preferred
