UST is searching for a Process Engineering Technician who will operate reactors to perform thin film processes and evaluates performance of process systems; recommends troubleshooting procedures to engineering.

Role Location: California
Compensation Range: $56,000-$84,000
Benefits
Full-time, regular employees accrue a minimum of 10 days of paid vacation per year, receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year), 10 paid holidays, and are eligible for paid bereavement leave and jury duty. They are eligible to participate in the Company’s 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer matching. They and their dependents residing in the US are eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as the following Company-paid Employee Only benefits: basic life insurance, accidental death and disability insurance, and short- and long-term disability benefits. Regular employees may purchase additional voluntary short-term disability benefits, and participate in a Health Savings Account (HSA) as well as a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) for healthcare, dependent child care, and/or commuting expenses as allowable under IRS guidelines. Benefits offerings vary in Puerto Rico.

You Are
UST is searching for a Process Engineering Technician who will operate reactors to perform thin film processes and evaluates performance of process systems; recommends troubleshooting procedures to engineering.
The Opportunity
- Prepare wafers for experimentation to include cleaning and preparation of reactors
- Prepare cross-section samples for scanning electron microscope (SEM) analysis; optimize sample prep procedure and conditions and identify cut location based on pattern instructions
- Record process conditions and experimental observations; evaluate wafers and thin films to include optimization of process recipes. Prepare graphs and tables summarizing results and analyzing data
- Operate scanning electron microscope for cross-section and top-view, critical dimension (CD), or energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) analysis and imaging
- Identify all patterns of interest in imaging and understand image quality requirements and sample/beam interaction to determine optimized condition
- Understand basic scanning electron microscope (SEM) principles
- Responsible for all technology products
What You Need
- Technical Diploma
- 4-6 years of experience
- Physical Requirements:
- This position often requires extensive walking, standing for extended periods of time, working in tight spaces, bending, squatting, twisting, kneeling, reaching, climbing stairs and ladders, working at height, lifting up to 35 lbs., the ability to distinguish between colors and working with electricity, the ability to work in an environment with noise that may be difficult for some individuals with sensitivity to noise, and the use of hand and power tools. Additionally, because this position generally involves working in a clean room, it requires the use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment such as coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses, gloves, respirators, chemical aprons, and face shields.
