UST is searching for an experienced IBM i (AS/400) Developer to design, develop, and maintain applications. Responsible for delivering high-quality solutions and ensuring smooth project execution on the IBM i platform.
The Opportunity

Role Location: Ontario, Canada
Compensation Range: $115,000-$144,000
Benefits
Full-time, regular employees accrue a minimum of 10 days of paid vacation per year, receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year), paid holidays, and are eligible for paid bereavement leave and jury duty. They and their dependents residing in Canada are eligible for Supplemental Healthcare coverage, as well as Company-paid Employee Only basic life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment coverage.

You Are
UST is searching for an experienced IBM i (AS/400) Developer to design, develop, and maintain applications. Responsible for delivering high-quality solutions and ensuring smooth project execution on the IBM i platform.
The Opportunity
- Create technical specifications and perform programming, testing, and implementation to deliver high quality business information processing systems.
- Develop and maintain applications on IBM i platform.
- Understand and work from design documentation provided by a Business Analyst
- Participate in technical walkthroughs, coding, code reviews, and testing phases (unit, system, QA/UAT).
- Review proposed solutions using current programming practices and determine the most efficient method for developing the desired functionality.
- Responsible for delivery of assigned projects through the entire life cycle on a committed timeline.
- Provide support during Go-Live and post-deployment.
- Analyzes, debugs and supports existing application software
- Collaborate closely with the team manager to ensure project timelines, quality standards, and client requirements are met.
- Report progress and issues regularly to the Project Manager.
- Assist with implementation of new applications and systems software, (i.e. upgrades, enhancements, fixes)
- Assists with trouble-shooting, debugging and inquires related to system functionality and performance
- Work with third parties, to determine problem solutions and corrective actions.
What You Need
- Minimum of 4 years of experience working with IBM i (RPG, RPGLE, CL, CLLE) in development or maintenance roles.
- Proficiency in ILE RPG and ILE CL programming.
- 4 years of programming experience on IBM System i, iSeries, AS400 analyzing, developing and implementing applications in RPG IV, RPG Free, ILE using SEU, SDA, embedded SQL, stored procedures, service programs, modules, binding and activation groups.
- Experience in analyzing and maintaining COBOL batch and interactive programs in the IBM i is an asset Strong debugging, code review, and unit testing skills.
- Experience with Aldon CMS and ROBOT job scheduler is an asset.
- Knowledge of Web Services on the IBM i is an asset.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and manage project deliverables effectively.
- Experience with EDI transaction processing and Warehouse management software would be an asset.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated success working in a team environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Highly organized in prioritizing work and multi-tasking.
